"I
never heard so many good and kind words and never felt such care."
Galina
S., Russia
From the hundreds and hundreds of cards, letters and photos weve
received from patients and their families, we chosen a few to share
with you. Perhaps someday a picture of your happy, healthy child
will grace this page.

"Kentons
open heart surgery came off without a hitch. They operated at about
8:30 in the morning and kept us informed every step of the way by
phone.
"
By 11 a.m. he was in his room at the ICU and we were able to see
him. He looked great---nothing like what we were prepared for.
"The
respirator tube was out and his heart started right up so no
pacemaker. We comforted him throughout the day and night as
our visit with him was unrestricted by ICU staff.
"Originally
he was to be released on the 4th but by 10 am on the
2nd he was doing so well that they had him unhooked from
all monitoring devices. By noon, staff was advising us on how to
care for him at home. By 3 pm on the 2nd we were in the car heading
home with Kenton.
"All
agreed it must be some kind of record! Thank you for everything
youve done for our son.

"Lauren
is doing wonderful. Nothing slows her down! You cant even
tell she has gone through a major surgery. She remembers being in
the hospital and me rubbing her head. She also remembers being stuck
in the arm.
"Lauren
lifts her shirt and asks if I want to see her ouchie. I tell her
it looks great. One day she told me see my little heart. Its
all better now.
"I
asked her what her heart was full of. She responded love.
She really is a little angel! Thank you very much for making her
surgery so successful."

"I
came across a quote the other day that reminded me of you. Most
of us dont listen to understand---we listen to reply.
You have always listened to understand.
"In
a world with so many questions you have given me the opportunity
to voice my fears and concerns without pretending you have all the
answers.
"I
cant begin to tell you how much I appreciate your listening."

Ethopia, Tizita probably would not have lived to enjoy her 13th

"From
the moment we found out about our unborn son, you and your staff
and all the people from the Childrens Hospital were right
there to help.
"You
took an incredible amount of time from your very busy schedule to
meet with us. It didnt take us long to realize what a special
doctor you are and that gave us faith that putting Bradens
life in your hands was the best answer for his future.
We know Braden would not be here doing as well as he is without
you and your staff. Theres not a day that goes by that we
dont thank God for having you and the Childrens Hospital
here."

|

"Thank

|

"Samantha
is a wonderful, bright curious child. We will always be grateful

that fact."

"The
people at the Childrens Hospital of Illinois are like family
to us. They really get into the lives of their patients and help
the families cope so well.
"We
had a much different experience at another hospital. It was very
good but very big and it was clear that to the people there, Aaron
was just another kid.
In Peoria, theyre always prepared to care to Aaron, even though
he has many complicated problems. They know how to handle him
.
Hes special to a lot of people.
